The St. Nedelya Church
Since 1751, when St. Nedelya Church was built, it contains the relics of the 14th century Serbian King Stefan Uros II Milutin, canonized as a saint. Therefore, it is also called Holy King Church. The wood-carved iconostasis was made in 1865, and the icons were painted by the Revival artist Stanislav Dospevski.
On April 16, 1925 St. Nedelya Church was destroyed by the infamous bomb attempt at King Boris III and his government, which killed 150 people, among whom MPs and generals. The church was restored in 1931, after a design by architects I. Vasilyov and D. Tsolov.
